The recent failure of the FDA to approve the license for Provenge, (sipuleucel-T) has stunned the prostate cancer community
Prostate Cancer is a crisis in the United States. This year, over 220,000 of us will be diagnosed and 27,500 of us will die. Our disease strikes men and devastates our partners, wives, children and friends

A coalition of five nonprofits across the country plans to stage a gathering in Washington D.C., on June 4 to protest the recent delay of Provenge by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration

during a telephone conversation with a US Senator's aide today it was commicated that she is aware of the recent ruling on Dendreon's Provenge and WILL be looking into the concern. They have received many calls from outraged citizens. Keep calling. They listen to calls even if it comes from Iran , Don't forget that the the US Senate is one political body that can demand answers from the FDA and its not all about money , we have people all over the world that are dying of prostate cancer since it does not discriminate weather you are from Iran , or Tel Aviv or Washington , Approval of this drug would help money people , Million of them in USA.

Black Wednesday at the FDA

May 9, 2007, should be cited in the annals of cancer immunotherapy as Black Wednesday. Within an eight-hour period that day, the FDA succeeded in killing not one but two safe, promising therapies designed and developed to act by stimulating a patient's immune system against cancer. The FDA's hubris will affect the lives and possibly the life spans of cancer patients from nearly every demographic, from elderly men with prostate cancer to young children with the rarest of bone cancers.
The dream of stimulating a person's immune system to fight his cancer is older than the modern era of cancer chemotherapy. Over a hundred years ago, Dr. William Coley at Memorial Hospital in New York City experimented with bacterial agents that appeared to have properties in stimulating immune responses against sarcoma, a cancer of the muscles and bones. Advances ebbed during the era of chemotherapy in the mid-20th century, but over the last 25 years cancer immunotherapy has received much research focus and periodic support from the biotechnology industry.
Progress and investment, however, have been unsteady as tumor shrinkages following treatment never quite translated into "hard," clinically relevant outcomes such as prolongation of the survival of the patient. Still, this type of approach remains the Holy Grail of cancer treatment. One day current treatment approaches such as surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, which often kill most but not all of a cancer, could be made obsolete by a potent immune response that eradicates the cancer cells and provides subsequent protection against return and relapse.
Thus it was remarkable that in the last several months two different biotech companies, with products utilizing two completely different cancer immune approaches, came before the FDA's Advisory Committee Meeting for judgment. The first product, Provenge, made by the Dendreon company, is a cellular therapy that tackles prostate cancer. The results of the Provenge clinical trial in men with prostate cancer who had failed all other therapies appeared before the committee that advises on cell-based cancer products for the FDA Center for Biologics. This committee was comprised of immunology and oncology experts. The second product, Junovan, made by the IDM company, was tested in children with osteosarcoma, a rare bone cancer that affects just 900 children per year. The results of the Junovan clinical trial appeared before a different committee -- one that judges protein cancer agents and was comprised solely of oncologists with no immunology experts.

I personally believe that even in Iran there are plenty of prostate cancer patient , however they would benefit greatly and will have the privilege of getting the drug from Europe rather than the (
kaghaz Bazy system and in this case a sell out to a big European company
would add another 10 dollars to the stock. I got in to this mess at 15.00 and was hoping to sell it around 25 to 30 but now that it has dropped to 5.40 and another 53 cents after hours to 4.98 just wondering what should I do next
Provenge drug as a medical product is a most needed drug not because I have shares in it but mainly
because its Safe and it works. And the advisory committee conclusion towards the end of March was that the drug is "safe" as well . In recent days, many critics, analysts and investors had been debating the results of the FDA. The debatable topic was whether the evidence was substantial enough for a clear approval - but evidently not and this is why at 4 in the morning here in Texas I am siting posting this hoping for a better day tomorrow , but with no doubt , this has become Las Vegas
In Iran we have the we have FDA but its called Vesarat Behdari and believe it or not they have the same guidance as FDA

DNDN), I am surprised that the FDA's decision came earlier than the deadline of May 15, but of course, not surprised at all with their decision. I am not to say that DNDN is a bad stock to invest in - in fact, I would suggest investors keep a close eye on this one for opportunities to get back in.
Another spike won't be impossible.
On Wednesday, the FDA gave a so-called "approvable" letter to Dendreon Corp. requesting more information on the Provenge drug. The word "approval" makes the situation sound good, implying that approval of the drug is still possible contingent that the information provided meets the requirements. Given the political factors behind this decision, I would think that as long as information is provided, the FDA would have enough support to cover their back to go ahead with the approval. The only question that remains now - is when?
What are these additional requests from the FDA? First, they have asked for more clinical data to prove that the Provenge drug is effective. This was a rationale arguing for a rejection by the FDA, given that test subjects were only slightly under 130 patients, and that full-effects of tests wouldn't be fully observable until 2012. Dendreon has said that they're trying to clarify that request in order to determine exactly what type of data the agency wants.
The FDA also asked for additional information on the chemistry, manufacturing and controls section of the approval application. Dendreon said it believes it can get that information to the FDA "in a timely manner." This information would be easier to come by by the Company, and might actually imply a quicker than expected approval
Remember that in mid-January, meaning that it views the Provenge drug as a medical product that addressed unmet medical needs. The conclusion towards the end of March was that the drug is "safe". In recent days, many critics, analysts and investors had been debating the results of the FDA. The debatable topic was whether the evidence was substantial enough for a clear approval - evidently not.

NEW YORK, NY--(MARKET WIRE)--Apr 26, 2007 -- Aurus Corp (Other OTC:AURC.PK - News) announces that its president, Fedor Dovgan, has received a counteroffer of $.55 per share from Kartix Financial Corporation for all the outstanding shares of the Company.
The offer expires on May 1, 2007 at 18:00 hours but because of the annual Russian May holidays which end on May 9, Mr. Dovgan and Mr. Sokolov have agreed to extend the delay until May 11, 2007 at 18:00 hours.

Every broken bone is called a fracture and approximately 30 million fractures are treated every year throughout the developed world, as reported by medical reimbursement records in countries with national healthcare systems. The treatment of a fracture depends on the severity of the break. Simple fractures often heal themselves, with more complex closed fractures potentially amenable to treatment by manipulation (also called “reduction”) without requiring surgery.
